Services will be held at: 1:30 P.M., on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Burial will follow services in the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery.

Visitation times are: A public gathering will be from 12:30 P.M. Monday until service time at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the family in his name.

Robert was born on January 3, 1931 in Maxwell, Iowa, the son of Marshall and Irene (Hall) Allen. He was raised in Ames and graduated from Ames High School in 1949. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 during the Korean War. He was united in marriage with Helen Cormicle on August of 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a self employed auto mechanic and auto body repairman. He owned Bob's Body Shop in Slater, Iowa for a number of years. Robert also hauled cattle for a number of years. He enjoyed livestock auctions, Ford pick-ups and Professional Wrestling. Robert is survived by his wife: Helen Allen of Marshalltown, his four daughters: Tina Allen of Des Moines, Joni (Russ) Cormicle-Richards of Marshalltown, Judith (Fred) Peters of Quincy, Illinois, Janice (Gene) Tesch of Altoona; his sons: Doug and Michael Beckman, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister: Juanita (Jude) Johnson of Nevada, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his: parents and grand daughter: Jacqualine Cook.
