Collins Gazette, Collins, Story County, Iowa, December 5, 1912.

Orcelia Freedom Allen was born in Towanda, Penn., Sept. 12th, 1848, and died at her home in Collins, Story county, Iowa, Nov. 26, 1912, at the age of 64 yrs., 2 mo., and 6 days.

She was united in marriage to Charley Evans Jan. 1, 1866, who preceded her to the heavenly home, June 16, 1881. To this union were born 5 children: Mrs. Jennie Stephens, Mrs. Lou McQuiston, Leonard Evans, all of Collins, Iowa: Dollie Dodd, of Lorimer, Iowa, who survive her.; and Minnie who preceded her to the great beyond at the age of ten yrs., 10 months and 18 days. Father and mother, five sisters and one brother are waiting for her in the heavenly land, and two brothers are living: Albert Allen of Walnut, Ill., and Seth of Portland, Oregon. 14 grandchildren mourn her death.

In 1889 she was converted and united with the U. B. church at Willow Creek. She has been in poor health for years.

The funeral was held in the M. E. church Thursday Nov. 28th. Many neighbors and friends were in attendance to show their esteem and high regard for the deceased. The sermon was preached by Rev. Zike, whose discourse breathed tender sympathy and consolation for the bereaved ones. The choir sany appropriate and beautiful hymns, Miss Myrna Fish accompanying.

The interment was in Collins Cemetery, the pall bearers being P. A. Kitchell, W. H. Thompson, E. B. Weese, Chas. Todhunter and A. W. Woten.

Deceased was a loving and devoted mother, a true sister, a kind neighbor and friend. The sympathies of this community are given to the bereaved.
