Ruth Hadley Alleman, 92, of Ames, died from complications of a stroke at Heartwood House in Ames on Nov. 5.

She was born Oct. 31, 1910, in Dupree, S.D. to William and Susan (Hanson) Hadley. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School. She received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She married John Alleman on Oct. 7, 1939, in Ames. She was employed at Engledingers Children's Clothing Shop and Ames Stationers and retired in 1978. She taught Sunday school and was active in PTA. She was a member of Colfax Cloverette 4-H Club. She was a member of the Napier United Methodist Church in Napier.

Survivors include a son, Mike Alleman of Nevada; a daughter, Sandra French of New Albany, Ind.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Hope Hanson of Santa Rosa, Calif.

Her husband; and infant son; and a brother, Milo Hadley, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 8, at Napier United Methodist Church in Napier. Burial was in the Story Memorial Gardens in Ames. Memorial contributions may be made to the Napier United Methodist Church. Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, handled arrangements.
