Stella F. Alexander, 100, of Nevada, died at Rolling Green Village in Nevada from pneumonia.

She was born Dec. 6, 1901, in Champaign, Ill., the daughter of Jesse M. and Alice (Rothrock) Christy. When she was 4, her family moved to Story County, where she had been a resident since that time. She attended rural school near Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School. She married Lee Alexander on March 10, 1921, in Nevada. She was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church since 1919, the Friendly Sunday School Class, WWI Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her home and family.

Survivors include a son, Wesley (and Betty) Alexander of Nevada; a daughter, Barbara Mooney of Stuart, Fla.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 23, 1977; five brothers, Artie Christy, Freeman Christy, Jesse Christy, Herbert Christy and Harold Christy; and one sister, Mabel Alexander.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Nevada First United Methodist Church. Bacon Funeral Home, Nevada, handled arrangements.
