THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, July 12, 2008.

Pauline Hill Bathe Raudabaugh, 91, of Lake Forest, Ill., died Friday, July 4. Burial and a private graveside service were Wednesday, July 9, at the Geneseo Cemetery in Tama County.

Pauline was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Lamoni, to Marshia Hill Bathe and Irvin Lee Bathe. She attended Graceland College and graduated from Drake University with a bachelor's degree in music education. She married Joseph Neil Raudabaugh June 23, 1940.

Pauline taught music in public schools, taught piano and organ to hundreds of beloved pupils, served as organist at First Congregational Church in Sioux City, organist and choir director at First Congregational Church in Ames, choir director at Westmoreland Congregational Church in Bethesda, Md., and organist at Faith Lutheran, Walker Chapel and First Presbyterian Churches in Arlington, Va. She served for many years as music coordinator for Arlington House, Custis-Lee Mansion under the auspices of the U.S. National Park Service. She was an active member of the American Guild of Organists, Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the American Revolution, Jamestowne Society, North Arlington Garden Club, P.E.O., SAI Music Fraternity, and Women's Association of National Presbyterian Church. Her tireless energy and commitment to family, music, church, community and country inspired many.

She is survived by two sons, John (Susan) Raudabaugh, of Chicago, and Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., and Joseph (Beverly) Raudabaugh, of Lake Forest, Ill.; one daughter, Marsha (Guy) Mueller, of Minneapolis; and five grandchildren, Emily, Melissa, Joey, Rebecca and James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and husband of 66 years, Neil.
