Lester O. Olson, 83 of Zearing, Iowa,formally of the Clemons/State Center area entered into eternal life Friday, June 13, 2008 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. His funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Estel-PerrinAvey Funeral Home, with interment following at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, June 16 from 5-7:00p.m. at Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home. Memorial contributions will be evenly distributed between

Lester was born in Hardin County on September 11, 1924 to Edwin and Amelia (Krueger) Olson. He grew up in the area of his birth. In 1950 Lester was united in marriage to Gladys Schaper. Lester was employed by Donnelly Marketing out of Nevada, Iowa for more then twenty years.

On the side, Lester spent most of his spare time farming. He enjoyed John Deere Tractors, gardening, visiting antique shows and spending time with family. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in State Center.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Gladys; five children, Connie (Mitch) Gronemeyer, Arthur (Doris) Olson, Gerald Olson, Randy (Kimberly) Olson, and Mike (Julie) Olson; eleven grandchildren, Nathan (Kisma), Andrea (Reece), Rachel, Krystal, Kendra, Sierra, Ethan, Emily, Samantha, Lucas and Madalynn; and one great grand-daughter, Olivia.

In eternal life, Lester joins his parents.
