THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, June 28, 2008.

Rawland A. "Bud" McNabb, of Baraboo, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Columbia, Mo. A memorial service was held Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo, Wis., with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating.

He was born July 18, 1913, in Ames, to Clarence and Imogene (Harbaugh) McNabb. He graduated from Ames High School in 1933, Iowa State College in 1938 in dairy industry, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years.

On June 8, 1938, he married Frances Ahrens, of Fort Dodge. He worked for Dolly Madison Dairies in LaCrosse, Wis. In 1940, they moved to Baraboo, where Bud was Gem City Dairy plant manager.

While serving as a Technical Sergeant in World War II in the 9th Medical Battalion, 9th Amphibious Division, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was employed by the Department of Natural Resources managing Rocky Arbor State Park, retiring in 1978. Bud worked part-time for 43 years in Bud's upholstery shop. After retiring, he worked at the Circus World Museum for 17 years.

He was a longtime member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, serving as church treasurer and on the Board of Trustees.

Survivors include sons, John C. (Ireta "Rikki") McNabb, of Baraboo, Wis., and James P. (Charla) McNabb, of Columbia, Mo.; grandsons, Gregory, of Aiea, Hawaii, and Jeffery (Wendy) McNabb and Christopher McNabb, all of Baraboo, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Max, of Baraboo, Wis.; his sister, Mary McNabb Kearns, of Ames; nieces, MaryAnn (Bob) Gardner, of Nevada, and Betty Jane Kearns, of Kelley; special great-niece, Deb (Mike) Mitchell, of Collins; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents; and his sister, Florence.
