Helen Raisides Andrews, 82, of Ames, died Thursday, June 12, at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

Services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Adams Funeral Home, with Father Basil, St. George Greek Orthodox, Des Moines, officiating. Burial will be Saturday, June 21, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, Conn.

Helen was born July 20, 1925, in Wheeling, W. V., the daughter of James and Bessie (Pavlides) Raisides. She grew up in Wheeling, W.V.; lived in Queens, N.Y., in the 1940s; and Fairfield County, Conn., in the late 1950s. She had lived in Ames since 2005. She had been an administrative assistant at Metropolitan Life Insurance.

She married Thomas Andrews in 1958. She was the daughter of Greek immigrants.

Helen is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Andrews, of Ames; two sons, James T. (Margaret R. LaWare), of Ames, and William T. (Ann) Andrews, of Hopkinton, Mass.; one brother, Paul (Fannie) Rasides of Fairfield, Conn.; and three grandchildren, Elena Andrews, and Taylor and Abigail Andrews.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Adams Funeral Home.
