Funeral services for Walter Sowers, 68, Story City, were held Aug. 7 from Grace United Methodist Church, Story City, with the Rev. Paul H. Beckman officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Sowers died Aug. 5 at Mary Greeley Hospital.
Born March 15, 1904, in Hamilton County, he married Bernice Helen Anfinson on Oct. 12, 1938. They lived on the Story City farm where Mr. Sowers was born. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a son, Larry W., Algona; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Kolbe, Bagley; a brother Pearly, Jewell; and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Pallbearers were Millerd Lee, Philip Romp, Burdette Olson, Richard Olson, John Dickerson and Milo Nessa.
