Mrs. Sadie Sowers of Ames is Dead
Mrs. Sadie L. Sowers, 78, of 234 Welch Ave., died about 6 am.m. today at Mary Greeley Hospital.
Born in Hopedale, Ill., she came to Nevada with her parents in 1889. She taught school in Milford Township and operated a tea room in Ames for many years.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the PEO Sisterhood, and Collegiate Presbyterian Church.
Surviviors include a son, A. William Sowers of Ames, three grandsons and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Max L. Sower, died in 1918. A son, Philip Sowers, died in 1946.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. William Remley, pastor of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
