Mrs. Margaret Sowers, known to most of her friends and relatives as Maggie, passed away Feb. 12, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Sowers was a lifetime resident of Hamilton County where she was born to pioneer parents, Lars and Sarah Henderson on Jan. 8, 1881. she was reared in a christian home of fourteen brothers and sisters, seven of whom were half brothers and sisters. She is survived by only one sister, Mrs. Anna Ericson of Story City, having been preceded in death by both parents and twelve brothers and sisters. She had just passed her 77th birthday.
Her final illness had kept her bedfast for four months since suffering a stroke in October.
She was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and remained a member of Elim Lutheran Church of Randall until her death.
Her survivors include three daughters, Mrs. V. A. (Bessie) Ericson of Washington, K. C. ; Mrs. A. W. (Erma)Orning of Nashville, Tenn.; and Mrs. Albert (Sarah) Holt of Randall. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A sister, Mrs. E. L. Ericson of Story City.---from unknown local paper (Maggie is Mrs. Guy Sowers.)
