Hansel Christian, 76, of State Center, died December 26 at the Los Angeles New Hopital, Los Angeles, California, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Roland December 25, 1902, and farmed until his retirement in 1975. He was a resident of Colo for thirty years and had lived in State Center since last February.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Colo; the Nevada Masonic Lodge, the Isabelle Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and of Madan Shrine, Marshalltown, number 38.
Mr. Christian is survived by his wife, Adaline; a son, Max Dean, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Anita Suzanne of Los Angeles, California; six sisters, June Rod, Olive Borwich, and Francis Holen of Roland, Cleo Cecil of Gardenia, California, Ruby Freeman of Los Angeles, California, and Ariet Smith of State Center; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Colo United Methodist Church, with Pastor Olaf Holen of Ames and Rev. Harian Babcock of Colo officiating. Burial well follow in the Roland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing from Friday noon till time of services.
