Fred P. Eller, 62, of route 2 Ames, died Monday, March 1, 1982 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.
He was born April 29, 1919 in Ames, the son of Frederick M. and Julia Fitzgerald Eller. On May 13, 1944, he married Betty C. Berhow in Ames.
Mr. Eller worked may years for James Thompson and Sons and also for Boucher Masonary. He was a member of Bricklayers Union Local 27 and served as secretary and as treasurer of the local. He was a member of St. Cecilla's parish, Ames.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Jim of Nevada, Bruce of Ames, and Fred of Story City; a daughter, Becky, of Ames; a brother, Ed, of Roland; two sisters, Frances Buehler of Marengo, Ill. and Bernice McNolty of Dale City, Va.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, Ames, with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stevens Funeral Home, Ames, from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be sent to his home at route 2, Ames.
