Lillian Crouthamel, 93, Polk City, a former Nevada resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1981 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.
She was born Nov. 13, 1887 near Boone, the daughther of Martha and Winfield Sparks. She attended the Boone County Schools and taught in a rural school before her marriage on Des. 22, 1910 to Ottie Crouthamel.
Mrs. Crouthamel was active in church wrok and taught Sunday School for 60 years. She moved to Nevada in 1959, following the death of her husband.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Osborn of Maxwell and Virginia Peterson of Des Moines, and 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one sister, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada, with Rev. Harold Wagner and Dr. Wayne Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Cooper Funeral Home, Maxwell, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and at the United Methodist Church in Nevada from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
