Ralph Bryant, 76, of Nevada, died Sunday, July 30, 1989 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, IA. Cause of death was complications following surgery.
Bryant was born Oct. 18, 1912 in Polk County, IA, to Andrew and Lena (Stenson) Bryant. He was a resident of the county for 31 years.
He married Florence Carroll Dec. 29, 1936 in Des Moines, IA.
Survivors include his wife; one son Loren, of Slater; three daughters, Phyllis Elem of Bell City, MO; Diane Vasey and Arlys Chitty, both of Nevada; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jess, Floyd, Roy and Delmar; and one sister, Rooka Carlson.
Bryant was a retired farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1989 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Nevada, with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
