Margaret A. Knox, 78, of Madrid died Tuesday at the Boone County Hospital of cancer. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, with burial in the Hillsdale Cemetery near Madrid.
Margaret A. Knox was born in Ames, the daughter of Ralph Carroll and Grace Hughes. She lived near Madrid for 57 years and was employed as a printer with Federal Prescription. She was retired and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Madrid Heritage Quilters Club.
Mrs. Knox is survived by her husband, Robert R. Knox of Madrid; one son, Robert Darwin Knox of Woodward; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Florence Bryant of Nevada, Catherine Santi of Madrid and Helen Miller of Kelley.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bethel Mission in Des Moines.
