William R. Carroll, a atomic energy researcher for the Iowa State University, died in the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines Thursday morning. Services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Carroll was long a resident of Ames. He is survived by his wife, Marianna, a son, Terry and a daughter, Nancy, both of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by his four sisters: Margaret Knox of Madrid, Florence Bryant of Nevada, Katherine Sante of Madrid, and Helen Miller of Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
