Funeral Service Held For Miss Irma Sowers

Funeral services for Miss Irma Sowers of Ojai, Calif. were conducted from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday, Oct. 29, 1959 at 2 P. M. Rev. R. M. Shipman of Ames officiated at the services. O. E. S. Chapter No. 296 was in charge of the services.
Mrs. Irene Dobson was at the organ and accompanied Mrs. Harry Sutherland as she sang "In the Garden."
Casket bearers were Donald Bielefeldt, Vere Bielefeldt, Clarence Sowers, George Sowers, Wilbur Sowers and William Sowers.
Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.
Irma Sowers was born Oct. 14, 1890 in Ames, Iowa. Death came on Oct. 16, 1959 at the Story County Hospital were she had been admitted as a patient four days before.
Irma was the daughter of James W. and Alice Ballard Sowers.
Survivors include a brother, Dr. James H. Sowers of Buffalo Center, Iowa and four sisters, Mrs. Homer Boyce of Nevada, Mrs. Frank Montgomery of Mason City, Mrs. Sylvia Carey of Ames and Miss Mildred Sowers of Ojai, Calif.
People from out of town attending the funeral were from Story City, Ames, Roland, Mason City, Buffalo Center and California.
The O. E. S. was in charge of the dinner served to the people here for the funeral.
