Arnold Sorenson, 76, of Story City died May 6, 2008 at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, May 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Burial with military rites followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Arnold was born April 19, 1932 in Story County to Soren and Lulu (Hufmaster) Sorenson. He worked as a plumber for Van Voorhis in Ames for 16 years and for Ames School District for 23 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Arnold was a lifetime resident of the Boone and Story County area. He was a member of the Story City American Legion, Boone VFW and 40-n-8 club.

He is survived by his son, Terry Sorenson of Story City; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kathy Saldana; three brothers, Edward, Dick, and John; three sisters, Beatrice, Esther Fourbell and Marie White and a niece, Lonnie Sue.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.
