THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, May 2, 2008.

May 28, 1916 - May 1, 2008

Doris M. Cody, 91, longtime Ames resident, died Thursday, May 1, at Northcrest Health Care Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at North Grand Christian Church. Burial will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Adams Funeral Home.

Doris was born May 28, 1916, in Ames, to Elmer and Nora (Hoffimester) Sorenson. She married Howard Cody Aug. 31, 1936, in Ames.

She is survived by one son, Tom, of Ames; one brother, L.M. "Bud" Sorenson, of Boone; and two sisters, Elma Boersma, of Humboldt, and Margaret Phillips, of Bella Vista, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her beloved husband, Howard, in 1997.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
