Terry Lynn Myers, 48, of Ames, died Monday, April 21, at home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th St., in Nevada, with Pastor David Burling officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Private family burial of the cremains will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the service, Thursday, April 24, at the church.

Terry Lynn Myers was born Feb. 22, 1960, in Nevada, to Dallas Dale and Jane E. (Swafford) Myers. He was a 1979 graduate of Nevada High School. He married Katy Dearborn May 11, 1985, in Nevada. They were the parents of Megan and Matt Myers. He later married Kelly Buttry May 31, 1997, in Nevada. He was employed by Woodruff Construction in Ames. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also served as a volunteer for the Nevada Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Myers, of Ames; two sons, Matt Myers, of Nevada, and Tyler Myers, of Ames; two daughters, Megan Myers and Kelsey Myers, both of Ames; and one brother, Dallas Dale (Helen) Myers and their daughter, Harper, of Midland, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
