THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, March 22, 2008.

Oct. 6, 1943-March 20, 2008

Annette Hull, 64, of Boone and formerly of Slater, died Thursday, March 20, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Slater United Methodist Church, with Rev. Emily S. Allen and Rev. Jack Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, east of Luther.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone, where the family will be present to receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the Slater United Methodist Church.

Annette Hull was born Oct. 6, 1943, in Mason City, the daughter of Melbern and Virginia (Lyford) Barker. She graduated from Manly Kenset High School in 1961 and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Annette married Adrian Hull Sept. 3, 1966, in Manly. The couple lived in Slater from 1966 to 2003, at which time they moved to Boone. Annette was a homemaker. From 1964 to 1966, she was employed at Pioneer Hybrids in Des Moines in the accounting department. She was a member of the Slater United Methodist Church and she was very involved in church work. In earlier years, she raised foster children. Annette enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for holidays and birthdays. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. Annette was also very involved with the Multiple Sclerosis organization.

She is survived by her husband, Adrian, of Boone; a son, Loren Hull and wife, Ann, of Boone; a daughter, Jolene Hull, of West Des Moines; three grandchildren, Danielle Dorsey, Andy Hull, and Logan Hull, all of Boone; two sisters, Betty Foster and husband, Carl, of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Zola Garnass, of Manly.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Nordskog.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
