Harold G. Erickson, 81, died Thursday, March 13, at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Burial will be in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

Harold G. Erickson was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Huxley, to Severt and Mary (Olson) Erickson. He was a lifelong resident of McCallsburg. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He worked as an animal caretaker at the National Animal Disease Lab in Ames from 1960 until his retirement in 1988.

He married Marilyn Noules in 1957 in Marshalltown.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and McCallsburg American Legion Post 334.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin and Rick Erickson, both of McCallsburg; one daughter, Cheryl Miille, of Waverly; five grandchildren, Briana and Mike Miille, and Travis, Tyler and Brandi Erickson; and two sisters, Helen Knoll, of Des Moines, and Rosella Brooks, of Kimberly City, Mo.

His parents, wife, one daughter, nine brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Fredregill Funeral Home of Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
