April 30, 1943-March 14, 2008

Chuck Bass, 64, of Ames, died Friday, March 14, at Israel Family Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Chuck Bass was born April 30, 1943, in Hampton, to Gerald D. and Evelyn (Parks) Bass. He married Beverly Kibsgaard on Jan. 8, 1966.

He was employed as a public works supervisor for the city of Ames and retired after 31 years. He was a member of the Ames Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 37, and the Ames Moose Lodge No. 520. His special interests were golfing, fishing, hanging out with friends and cruising in his Cadillacs.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bass, of Ames; two daughters, Missy (Mark) Torche, of Marshalltown, Angie (Jim) Plowman, of Vining; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; Uncle Clyde (Elaine) Parks; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy Reiman.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Israel Family Hospice House.

Stevens Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
