THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 11, 2008.

Darlene A. McLaughlin, 85, of Luther Manor in Dubuque, died Saturday, March 8, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Services were today at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dubuque. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.

She is survived by two sons, David (Sharon) McLaughlin, of Dubuque, and Steven (Annamae) McLaughlin, of Ames; five grandchildren, Kelly (Tim) Edwards, of Houston, and their children, Matthew and Ryan, Tracy (Mike) Schaul, of Dubuque, and their children, Tyler, Austin, Bailey, Kaitlyn and Morgan, Shannon (Greg) Perlin, of Vernon Hills, Ill., and their children, Sam, Luke and Elle, Adam (Heidi) McLaughlin, of Coralville, and their children, Ella and Molly, and Eric (Marcy) McLaughlin, of Hillsborough, N.J., and their children, Ethan and Mackenzie; one sister, Ruth Collins, of Dubuque; one brother, Edward Bartella, of Bellevue; and one uncle, Ray Leitner, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by three infant children, Leo Jr., Dennis and Margaret McLaughlin; and one grandson, Jeffrey McLaughlin.

A Darlene McLaughlin Memorial Fund has been established.
