Sandra Sue Howe, 63, of Ankeny died on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial service was held 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 1 at the Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor Ronald D. Myers officiating.

Sandra was born on September 21, 1944 in Ft. Madison, Iowa to Robert J. and Georgia F. (Hirstine) Heidbreder, Sr. She was a graduate of Ft. Madison High School. On April 3, 1964, Sandra married William Howe in Ft. Madison. Sandra loved being with her family, watching birds and squirrels, crocheting, and tending to her flowers.

Sandra is survived by her husband William of Ankeny; 4 sons, Mark (Mary) Howe of Bondurant, Russ (Karen) Howe of Ankeny, Billy (Robin) Howe, Jr. of Nevada, and Chris (Shayla) Howe of Waukee; a daughter, Nancy Jo (J.B.) Hamilton of Osceola; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Melanie, Ryan, Kyle, Aarin, Lathan, and Lydia Howe; 4 sisters, Nellie Rudd, Dorothy Ramsey, Pat Marshall, all of Ft. Madison and Esther Womack of Denmark, Iowa.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes or Heart Associations.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services was entrusted with Sandra and her family.
