Beverly Ann (Harestad) Olson, 73, of Garden City, died Monday, Feb. 4, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services were today at Stavanger Lutheran Church in Garden City. Burial was in Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery in Garden City.
Beverly Ann (Harestad) Olson was born Jan. 23, 1935, at the Eldora Memorial Hospital in Eldora, one of five children born to Arthur and Anna (Ryg) Harestad. She attended Concord No. 6 School in Garden City and Radcliffe School in Radcliffe.
She married Lester Olson Dec. 16, 1951, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Radcliffe. Bev and Lester adored each other and had a special bond throughout their life together. They lived their entire life in Garden City. She worked for Nessa Grocery in Garden City for several years and Bethany Manor in Story City for more than 30 years.
Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life and she truly enjoyed spending time with them.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her three daughters, LouAnn and Allen Busch, of Garden City, Colleen and Denny Posegate, of Roland, and Jolene Olson, of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Kari and Mike Matheason, of Story City, Jami Busch and fiancé Kevin Hansen, of Ankeny, Brandon Busch, of Garden City, and Blake Olson, of Denver, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Dylan Matheason; one sister, Dorothy Schumer, of Ames; and one brother, Bob Harestad, of Roland; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Olson; and two infant siblings.
Memorials may be directed to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard is in charge of arrangements.
