THE STORY CITY HERALD, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, March 28, 2007.

Loren K. Britson, 83, of Roland, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Tabor Hills Nursing Home in Naperville, IL. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, 1:30 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland with Rev. Rachael Hanson officiating. Burial with military honors followed in the Roland Cemetery.

Loren K. Britson was born August 20, 1923 in Roland, Iowa to Arthur and Helga (Kvalem) Britson. He grew up in Roland and served in the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Patricia L. Allen on December 1, 1946 in Nevada. They resided in Roland where Loren
worked for the city of Roland for several years. They were members of Bergen Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Britson of Story City; one son, Kenny and his wife Cleta Britson of Maple Valley, WA; two daughters, Cindy and her husband Kent Severson of Mt. Pleasant and Kay Posegate of Oswego, IL; two sisters, Betty Ritland of Ames and Dolores and her husband William Maynard of Fort Atkinson, WI; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Britson of Ames and Hope Britson of Marshalltown; and four grandchildren, Scott Severson of New London, Jocelyn Posegate of Portland, OR, Erica and her husband Seth Wallace of Coralville and Brooks Posegate of Missoula, MT.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and William Britson.
