Duane R. Mostrom, 71, of Story City died March 16, 2007 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 21, 2007 at Imrnanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.
Duane was born June 19, 1935 in Kensett, Iowa to Elmer and Myrtle (Anderson) Mostrom. He married Ardella Senne on February 25, 1957. They moved to Story City in 1972 after living in Ames for 12 years prior to that. He worked as an X-Ray Technician for 20 years at McFarland Clinic and then 12 years at Iowa State University. Duane also farmed. He enjoyed farming, listening to farm market reports, his grandchildren and sports. Duane was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as trustee. He had also mowed the Roland Cemetery.
Duane is survived by his wife, Ardella of Story City; three sons, Mark (Kathy) of Ventura, Steven of Davenport, and Dan (Susy) of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters, Sheryl (Gene) Hager of Eyota, Minnesota, Diane (Steve) Holdredge of Story City and Wendy (John) Heilman of Springfield, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcile Skran of Mason City; and a sister-in-law, Donna Mostrom of Clear Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dean and David and a son-in-law, Jerry Severson.
Memorials maybe be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
