Evelyn Harriman, 80, of Gilbert, died Wednesday, Jan. 30. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Evelyn Clouser Harriman, 80, of Gilbert, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at Gilbert Lutheran Church, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery.
Evelyn Clouser Harriman was the daughter of George and Nellie (Record) Clouser. She was born in Ames and lived in the area most of her life. She attended Gilbert Schools and graduated in 1944. She married Bill Harriman Oct. 14, 1945. In May 1950, they bought the grocery store in Gilbert. She ran Harriman Grocery until they sold it in the fall of 1960. She retired from the Iowa State Library in 1982 after 22 years. She was active in Gilbert Lutheran Church, where she was the librarian for many, many years. After the death of her husband in 2000, she married Bill Robison in 2004.
She is survived by two sons, Bill (Carol), of rural Story City, and Steve (Sandra), of Gilbert; two daughters, Nancy (Nyle) Packer, of rural Ames, and Teri Gallahan, of Gilbert; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Harriman; her second husband, Bill Robison; five sisters; and one brother.
She leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.
Stevens Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
