THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, January 26, 2008.

Ruth Emma Olson, 97, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 25, at Green Hills Care Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Ruth Emma Olson was born July 18, 1910, in Eustis, Neb., the daughter of William and Emma (Hauser) Grabenstein. She married Delmore R. Olson April 20, 1941, in Eustis. She and Delmore lived in Omaha for over 40 years before moving to Ames in 1986 to reside near family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Tom Hensley), of Ames, and Susen (William Buckendorf), of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Erwin (Tony) Grabenstein, of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, Tonya Mallozzi, of Olathe, Kan., William Buckendorf, of New York City, Tara Vandermark, of Spring, Texas, Kurt Buckendorf, of Williamsburg, Va., and Tanner Hensley, of Des Moines; five great-grandchildren; and 26 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmore; her parents; five sisters; and two brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Green Hills Health Center or St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ames.
