Steven L. Lundy age 58 of Rochester passed away January 16, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Steven was born October 19, 1949, in Estherville, IA to Donald & Dorothy (Olson) Lundy. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1967. Steve attended and graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College. He married Judy Dahna on June 6, 1970 in Estherville. He then attended Milwaukee Area Technical College in Wisconsin where he received his Mortuary Science Degree. They moved to Spirit Lake, IA where he worked as a funeral director.
In 1980, they moved to Rochester were Steve worked in sales in the South East Minnesota area. Steve and Judy moved to Des Moines, IA where he worked at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Steve returned to the Rochester area in 1999 and worked for the Mahn Family Funeral Homes.
In 2001, Steve & Judy purchased the Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon, MN which he currently owned and operated. Steve was a member of the Kenyon Koffee Klutch, Kenyon Men's Club, Eastwood Men's Club, and Porsche Club of America. Steve enjoyed playing golf, fishing at the cabin, trips to Disney World, Road America, and auto racing.
Steve is survived by his wife, Judy of Rochester; daughter, Anjanette (Jonathan) Fisher of Rochester; son, Andrew (Brandy) Lundy of Cedar Rapids, IA; three grandchildren, Kieran, Harley, Dashiell parents, Donald & Dorothy Lundy of Estherville, IA; sister Joni (David) Burnett of Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Noel Fisher and grandparents Silas & Bettea Lundy and Lloyd & Ruby Olson.
A funeral service was held Saturday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rochester with Rev. Fred Rengstorf and Mons Teig co- officiated. Burial was in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.
