Audrey A. Wiese Wasteney, 84, of Des Moines, died Friday, Dec. 28. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 31, at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Audrey was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Greenville, to George and Anna Middagh. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1941. She graduated from American Institute of Business and began working as a secretary for Jersey Dairy in Spencer, where she met Donald Wiese. They were married Nov. 9, 1946. They moved their family to State Center. She worked at Marshall Manufacturing in Marshalltown and later owned and operated Town and Country Florist in State Center.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the State Center Garden Club. She volunteered her time as a Girl Scout leader and was very active in politics. After Donald died in 1989, she became reacquainted with former high school classmate William Wasteney at her 50-year high school reunion. They were married on Sept. 21, 1991, and she joined William in Des Moines.

She will be missed by two daughters, Sandra (Jim) Robinson and Rosemary (Steve) Wilson; one daughter in law, Linda Wiese; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Peggy Kenoyer and Sandra Davis; six step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Leinenweaver and Myrtle Reason.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Donald D. Wiese; her parents; three sisters; and one brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Village Alzheimer's Unit.
