Anna Mae Oakland, age 77, of Radcliffe, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at Hubbard Care Center Inc. in Hubbard.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe with Pastor Craig Benson officiating. Anna Mae's body was cremated after the funeral service and a committal service was held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8 at the Radcliffe Cemetery in Radcliffe.

The family received friends on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.

Anna Mae (Alfseike) Oakland was born March 17, 1930 near Jewell, Iowa. She was the daughter of Andrew and Eva (Baldus) Alfseike.

She graduated from Randall High School in 1948, and received her Associates Degree from Waldorf College in 1950. Anna Mae then worked as a medical secretary in Des Moines for 8 years.

On Oct. 4, 1958, Anna Mae was united in marriage to Amos H. Oakland at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, Iowa. After their marriage, Amos' parents retired from farming, and Amos and Anna Mae continued farming on the same farm until their retirement in 1986. Anna Mae also worked for many years as a housekeeper at Bethany Manor.

In 1987, they moved to Radcliffe and remained there until Anna Mae moved into the Hubbard Care Center in 2002 and Amos joined her in August 2003. They enjoyed the years they had together at the Care Center.

She is survived by three daughters Alice (Ken) Fowlkes of Holland, Iowa, Ann (John) Griffin of Aurora, Illinois and Andrea (Scott) Aman of Edgerton, Minnesota; four granddaughters, Rachel and Kendra Fowlkes, Gloria and Monica Griffin; two sisters Evelyn Eckroth of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Esther Rasmussen of Clear Lake, Iowa; and one bother Andy Alfseike of Jewell, Iowa; along with other relatives and friends.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Amos Oakland.
