Helen W. Inglis Olinger, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
Helen W. Inglis Olinger was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Ames, the daughter of John and Mary Jane (Walker) Inglis. She graduated from Ames High School in 1937. She married Wayne Olinger Nov. 23, 1940, in Chillicothe, Mo.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, a former Deacon and a member of The Order of Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls. She loved her husband and family and grandchildren and enjoyed poetry, butterflies, nature and Bible reading.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Nevada; three sons, Dave (Sue) Olinger, of Eau Claire, Wis., and Dean (Cindy) Olinger and Dan Olinger, both of Ames; four daughters, DeLories (Alton) Carsrud, of Nevada, Mary (Ron) Pauley, of LaGrange, Ga., Janice (Jim) Cook, of Zearing, and Harriet (Ed) Flick, of San Pedro, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Wade Pauley; one brother, James Inglis; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Sarsfield and Winifred Inglis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada.
