MAXWELL - Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Grause, 51, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Services were held Saturday, December 15th at the 1st United Methodist Church in Nevada. Visitation was Friday, December 14th at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Cindy was born December 13, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Bonnie (Brownfield) Lenz. She graduated from Humbolt High School in 1974 and received an Associate's Degree from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. On June 15, 1974 she was married to Daniel Roy Grause in Humbolt, Iowa.
She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Youth & Shelter Services for 6 years. She was assistant manager at Dollar General in Nevada for 8 years.
Cindy was a member of the United Methodist Church. Cindy loved her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dan of Maxwell; two sons: Daniel J. (Nita) Grause of Ogden, Iowa and Matt (Emily) Grause of Tiffin, Iowa; one daughter Cathy (Jason) Vincent of Nevada, Iowa; four grandchildren: Colby, Camdan, Emma and Hannah; her parents Larry (Jean) Lenz, Bonnie (Vern) Abbas and Marilyn and John Holcomb; her siblings: Connie and Reed Dowling, Brian and Lisa Nelson, Brenda and Tom Mersch, Sue and Curt White, Jane and Jeff Astor, John Grause, Julie and Gary Hendricks, Jill Shryock, Debbie and Mark Cooney, Diana and Kurt Scott, Kelly and Frank McMullen; and other friends and family too numerous to mention.
She was preceded in death by her half brother, Scott Lenz.
Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory of Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
