Joan "Jo" E. Murray age 78 of Grand Detour, IL passed on Tuesday November 27, 2007 in KSB Hospital Dixon. She was born October 26 1929 in Toulon, IL the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Fell) Green.

Jo was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dixon and served as an elder since 1974. She was also a member of the PEO, the Phidian Art Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, KSB Auxiliary and the Board of Directors of St. Peter's Church in Grand Detour. She had served as a volunteer with KSB Hospice and the Hospice of the Rock River Valley.

She was married to Winston M. Murray in Toulon, IL on December 25, 1947.

She is survived by her husband, Winston of Grand Detour, children Michael (Libby) Murray of Charleston, IL; Cindy Murray of Davenport, IA; Susan (Tom) Schober of Green Bay, WI and Rodney (Andrea) Murray of DeSoto, TX; 4 granddaughters Lauren, Andrea, Shannon and Melissa; 1 great-granddaughter Nikayla Joy; sisters Juanita Pearre of Rancho Bernardo, CA and Kayleen Green of Lombard, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Patricia; granddaughter Faith; 2 brothers Donald and Richard Green; 1 sister Virginia Holtschult.

Memorial Services were held on Friday. November 30, 2007 in the First Presbyterian Church Dixon with Rev. LaVerne Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial of cremains was held Saturday December 1 in Elmira Cemetery in Toulon, IL. A memorial has been established to the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon.
