NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 6, 2007.

George E. Caldwell III, 65, of Clinton, Ill., died Dec. 2, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at Manor Care in Normal, Ill. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Williamsville, United Methodist Church in Williamsville, Ill., with the Rev. Leah Pogemiller officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

George E. Caldwell III was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Springfield, Ill., to Norma Jean Erdman and George E. Caldwell, Jr. He married Judith Fruland on Jan. 31, 1964 in Williamsville, Ill. He was a Grain Elevator Manager for 30 years. He retired from the Thorp Seed Company. He was an avid bicyclist and rail fan of the Illinois Terminal Railway. He was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church in Clinton, Ill. He will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Caldwell of Clinton, Ill.; children: Bethany L. (Mario) Santiago of Evanston, Ill.; James E. Caldwell of Evanston, Ill.; Nancy Caldwell of Lincolnshire, Ill.; two grandchildren: Gabriela and Andrew Santiago; four brothers: R. Wood (Jane) Caldwell of York, S.C.; Nik (and Sharon) Caldwell of Riverton, Ill.; Bradley (Nancy) Caldwell of Lake Mills, Wis.; Jack (Sheila) Caldwell of Williamsville, Ill.; one sister: Dana Caldwell, Raleigh, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Bruce Caldwell.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation.

Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
