Margaret Virginia Eiffert Devlin died Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Ames. Graveside services will be in Queen City, Mo.

Margaret was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Queen City, Mo., to William and Edith Little Eiffert. She married Arthur Devlin in 1936. He died in 1999. They had lived and raised their children in Ottumwa. She moved to Ames in 1999.

She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1936. She was very proud to be a registered nurse. She was a member of the Huguenot Society of Iowa, the Daughters of Union Veterans, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Wyckoff Family Association.

She was member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ames.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling and genealogy.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick (Diane) Devlin and Robert (Bonnie) Devlin; and one daughter, Margaret (Larry) Kerr. She also is survived by five grandchildren, Deborah Perry, Robert Devlin, Shannon Contreras, Ann Kerr and Kara Kerr-Moore; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Eiffert.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Elaine Shaw, Dorotha Page and Elizabeth Eiffert; and one brother, William Eiffert.
