TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, September 20, 2007.

NEVADA - Margaret G. "Margie" Applegate, 67, of Nevada, formerly of Maxwell, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.

She was born October 18, 1939 at Durango, Colorado, the daughter of Jack and Pansy (Donaldson) Porter.

She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Applegate on February 14, 1963 at Storm Lake, Iowa. Bob preceded Marge in death on August 6, 2003.

Marge had worked at Story County Hospital, starting as a CNA and retired in 1986 as Director of Ambulance Services.

Marge loved to fish, hunt mushrooms, and enjoyed the music of John Denver, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and Don Williams.

Marge is survived by 2 daughters: Melodie Applegate of Maxwell, IA, Dawn Charlet of Carson, IA; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Robert (Deb) Applegate of Maxwell, IA, Dale (April) Sanders of Canyon Country, CA; and 7 grandchildren: Heather, Micayla, Katy, Ashlyn, Garrett, Dylan and Darek.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother: Jack.

Memorial services were held Sept. 10 at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment was Sept. 11 at the Corwith Cemetery in Corwith, Iowa.

The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory handled arrangements.
