Mildred R. Sime, 102, of Story City and formerly of Forest City died Sept. 25, 2006 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Forest City.
Mildred was born July 26, 1904 in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Ethel (Snively) Waldie. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and received her education in the Forest City and Ventura schools.
She married Arthur Sime on August 6, 1924 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Forest City. Mildred was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and her Leah circle. She was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star and served several times as Past Worthy Matron. She moved to Bethany Manor in 1997.
Mildred is survived by her son, John of Nevada; a daughter, Verna Ruth of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Richard; and two sisters, Leone Damro and Ione Hill.
