He always was willing to help the youth who were interested in farming and was a 4-H leader for several years. He enjoyed and took pride in riding his horses in the Corydon Old Settlers Parade.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed attending the Country Music Jam Sessions and fishing. On his way home from fishing or from checking his cows, he often stopped to pick wild flowers for Georgia.

He was one of the founders of Corydon's Community of Christ Church and a deacon since the early 1970s.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia, of Corydon; one daughter, Martha Grosz, and husband, Bill, of Pleasant Hill; one son, Marshall, and wife, Patricia, of Ames; grandchildren, Christopher Grosz and special friend Maria Jansen, of Ames, Benjamin Grosz and special friend Lindsey McCormick, of Nevada, Jeremie Ruble, of Lexington, Ky., and Samuel Ruble, of Corydon; and great-grandchildren, William Max McCormick Grosz, of Nevada, and Tyson Christopher Grosz, of Ames. He also is survived by two brothers, Leo Ruble, of Naples, Fla., and Danny Ruble, of Des Moines; one sister-in-law, Alice Ruble, of Independence, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ron; and two sisters-in-law, Roberta and Joanne Ruble.

He was a loving and supporting husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon.

Memorials may be given to the Darl Ruble Memorial for Wayne County Youth Beef Projects.
