Frederick Wirth, of Story City, died Monday, June 4, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, June 6, 2007.

Frederick "Fritz" Leo Wirth, 79, of Story City, died Monday, June 4, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, rural Gilbert. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Wirth, of Story City; one daughter, Kim (Mike) Hermanson, of Story City; three sons, Tim Wirth, of rural Story City, Jeff (Tera) Wirth, of Story City, and Scott (Chris) Wirth, of West Des Moines; two sisters, Alina Lynch, of Des Moines, and Irene Faust, of St. Paul, Minn.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated for St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Iowa Hospice.
