March 31, 1939-May 22, 2007

Alan "Butch" Duane Quade, 68, of Story City, died Tuesday, May 22, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be at a later date in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Knierim.

Alan Quade was born March 31, 1939, in Knierim, to Carl and Hildur (Walstadt) Quade. He served in the Air National Guard from 1956 until 1962. He married Beverly Bammel March 29, 1959. They moved from Rockwell City to Story City in 1982. He was a member of the Knierim Volunteer Fire Department and the Story City American Legion.

He is survived by two daughters, Jill (Jerry) Lovig, of Story City, and Holly (Donald) Adix, of Ellsworth; three sons, Jeff (Newton) Quade, of Landsgrove, Greg (Crystal) Quade, of Nevada, and Rodney (Denna) Quade, of New York; one sister, Rosemary Doster, of Fort Dodge; and 11 grandchildren.

His parents; his wife; one brother, Norman "Bud" Quade; and one son, Cory Quade, preceded Alan in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
