Mary R. Williams, 85, of Nevada and formerly of Ames, died April 30, 2007 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will follow in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Mary was born to Peter and Anna (Zimmerman) Heick on May 6, 1921 in Peterson, IA. She attended Peterson schools through the eighth grade and then helped to raise her siblings on the farm. She married Floyd R. Williams in October 1945.

She worked at Collegiate Manufacturing in the 1960's. Then she worked at various restaurants in Ames and retired from Iowa State University Food Services. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and making crafts.

She is survived by her sons, Russell Williams of McCallsburg and Dennis (Becky) Williams of Nevada; daughters, Alice Maland of Phoenix, Oregon, Marcia (Ron) Stewart of Nevada and Christine (Bill) Oartwieg of Newton; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Mary) Heick of Davis City, IA and Chuck (Lois) Heick of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Dott (Don) Johnson of Madrid, IA, Jennie (Don) Markow of Minneapolis and Lucille Curtis of Fort Smith, AR; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Donnie Heick, and sisters, Rosie Moyer and Jane Kindig.

A visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service.
