THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

Florence E. Kleespie, 92, died Sunday, April 29, at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.

Florence E. Kleespie was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Madrid, to Frank and Jessie (Grigsby) Pies. She graduated from Luther High School. She attended Simpson College for two years and later graduated from Drake University with a bachelor's degree. She was a teacher at Zearing Community School (NESCO) for many years.

She married Arthur A. Kleespie Dec. 31, 1940, in Madrid. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Isabelle Chapter No. 271 of Colo, and Zearing Sorosies Club.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur A. Kleespie, of Zearing; one daughter, Karen (Londell) Mannes, of Ames; one granddaughter, Lisa (Alan) Feeney, of Morris Plains, N.J.; one grandson, Todd (Crystal) Mannes, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one sister, Marie Sutton, of West Des Moines; and two brothers, Henry and Kenneth Pies, of Madrid.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harvey, Eldon and Edward Pies; and one sister, Iona Kleespie.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Bethel United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church.

Fredregill Funeral Home, of Zearing, is in charge of arrangements.
