May 5, 1943-March 28, 2007

Floramae Gaard, 63, of Aurora, Neb., died Wednesday, March 28, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Neb. Funeral services were Saturday, March 31, at Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, Neb., with Pastor Karl Larson officiating.

Graveside services and burial were Monday, April 2, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Nevada.

Floramae Gaard was born May 5, 1943, in Nevada, the daughter of William Everett and Flora Mae (Wise) Post. She grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School. She attended St. Luke's Nursing School for a year in Cedar Rapids. She married Kay Royden Gaard Feb. 9, 1963, in Vermillion, S.D. She worked for Davis Donnellan Lumber Yard in Nevada, Wilson Lumber Yard in Ames and the Armstrong Company. Kay died March 1, 2005. Floramae moved to Aurora, Neb., in September 2005, where she worked at Schneider's Hardware. She enjoyed her grandchildren, knitting and camping. She had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Kate (Steve) Metzger, of Grand Island, Neb., and Jim (Debi) Gaard, of Dibold, Texas; four grandchildren, Jordan Kay and Kaleigh Lynn Metzger and Alex and Braydon Gaard; and brother, Claude William (Bev) Post.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Bacon Funeral Home of Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
