THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, April 3, 2007.

Marion Clark Haynes died Saturday, March 24, in Tucson, Ariz. His body has been donated to the University of Arizona Medical School in Tucson.

Marion Haynes was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Lawrence, Kan., the youngest of three sons of Eugene Leslie Haynes and Bertha Okeson Haynes. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he graduated from the University of Kansas in 1948 with a degree in business.

He married Doris A. Kenton in 1949, in Basehor, Kan. He was relocated to Ames in 1953, as a sales representative for the Lawrence Paper Company. He also owned and operated several businesses in Ames and surrounding areas. His other interests included flying, golfing and traveling with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; three daughters; three grandchildren; and one brother, Eugene L. Haynes Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert A. Haynes.
