Louise Wycoff, 88, of Nevada, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Louise was born July 17, 1918 at her parent's home in Colo, Iowa, the daughter of William and Lila (Baker) Schnur. Louise graduated from Colo High School in 1935 and then earned her teaching certificate from Westmar College. She was united in marriage to Floyd C. Wycoff March 14, 1952 in Colo, Iowa. Floyd preceded Louise in death February 24, 1992. Louise had taught rural schools at Pella, Cornell and Fernald, and then worked as a seamstress for Lyle's Clothing in Nevada for many years. Louise was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church of Nevada, the S.E.N.A. Club, and the Presbyterian Quilting Ladies. Louise enjoyed quilting, gardening, her grandchildren and her family.
She is survived by a daughter: Marlys Swanson of Nevada; 2 sons and daughters-in law: Dean and Linda Wycoff of Chariton, Carl and Jill Wycoff of Nevada; 10 grandchildren: Bradley Wycoff, Jeffrey Wycoff, Matthew (Sherry) Wycoff, Nicolas (Jessica) Wycoff, Jennifer (Mike) Sibley, Chris Folkmann, Makenzie (Rob) Patterson, Joshua Wycoff, Caleb Swanson and Hannah Swanson; 5 great-grandchildren: Eliza, Isabella and Gwendolyn Sibley, Chloe and Gretchen Patterson; 2 brothers: Raymond Schnur of Colo, Robert Schnur of Faribault, MN; and a sister: Elsie Ryan of Cresco.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd.
Funeral services were held Monday at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada. Burial was in the Colo Cemetery.
Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
