Anita Mae Lock, 82 of Nevada died on Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 15 at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Nevada.

Anita was born on May 24, 1924 in Byron, Oklahoma to George and Neva (VanGeesen) Creek. She was married to John Hainline, Jr. in 1940. John died on January 1, 1975. On July 24, 1955, Anita married Loren L. Lock in Arkansas. She was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ in Nevada and the Order of the Eastern Star. Anita was an avid Hawkeye fan.

Anita is survived by a son, Jerry (Sharon) Hainline of Seattle, WA; a daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Vaughn of Nevada; 5 grandsons, Johnathon, Joshua, and Jacob Vaughn and Jerrod and Jerramy Hainline; 3 great granddaughters, Skias Kay, Evanthea Lee Hainline, and one enroute from China; and 2 special daughters, Lisa Vaughn and her children Matthew, Megan, Mackenzie and Kay Fleshman and her children Michael and Mary Ann.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loren Lock on May 10, 1998, and a sister Juanita Maxine Garner.

Vern and Kay Fleshman, Godchildren, are walking in memory of Anita in the Breast Cancer 3Day Event in Boston, Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Koman For Cure and directed to Kay Fleshman, 2000 5th Street, Nevada, Iowa 50201.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Anita's arrangements.
